Rixey (b. 1905 - 25 - in VA - Occ: Saleslady Dept. Store - Fa: VA and Mo: VA). Children listed (born in VA) are: Maryann (dau b. 1922 - 8); and Joseph W. (son b. 1924 - 6)
The other twin (who survived). Enlisted in the US Navy in Jan. 1918 at Norfolk, VA. Graduated from Officers' Training School as an Ensign in June 1918. Served on the cruiser "Scattle" and made several trips to France. He also served on the destroyer "Ringgold" and a converted yacht "Wanderer" and resigned from the Navy in 1919 to return to his home in Fredericksburg, VA. Was a bookkeeper in the CW Jones Department Store in Fredericksburg. In 1925 he moved with his family to District of Columbia where he was connected with Metropolitan Life Insurance Co. and later was appointed as a clerk in the Bureau of the Census, Dept. of Commerce.
