!SOURCE Five Genealogies of Bowdish and Bowditch Families in America...by Cyrus and Maryella Bowdish: Martha was born February 29, 1856 at Toecane, North Carolina. She died July 2, 1929 at Toecane. Joseph moved to Mine Creek following his marriage and became a farmer and one of the largest land owners in the area. He planted an apple orchard which was one of the best producing orchards in the 1940's.
