His will is dated 11 sept. 1673 and was proved on 8 April 1674 in Calvert Co., Maryland

He had a large estate, over 2000 Acres, held many public offices, including "Chief Justice at Marlborough," and contributed (in 1709) to the fund for "building a convenient and handsome church in this parish." (ref: Drane History of England and America), which turned out to be th St. Barnabas Church, Queen Anne's Parish, Prince George's Co., Maryland. Many births and marriages are recorded in their records.
