Notes for Henry Kent
May have had another son Abaslom KENT
!Maryland State Archives computer lists: William Young as settler #4 and states: Henry the first of the Clifts, Kent, migrated by 1665 with Thomesonn* Kent, William Young, George Young, John Kent, William James, John Pertnier and
Mary Clarke. Apparently about 1665 Henry Kent was rewarded by the English King in the amount of 1000? acres for paying his own transportation to the colonies, and in the same amount for anyone else whom he transported...the persons listed are recorded as being transported by Henry Kent.
!Landoffice (Patient Record Original Liber cc, folio 623-4.); Secondary ref:7:562-3 : Tomasin - woman, wife, mother spelled variously as "Thomison", "Tomasin" etc....it might be presume her Christian name is actually the Surname of a relative?????? Also, apparently she was born Thomasin Parker, married a _____ Young, and then married Henry Kent.
Since these are all good old English names I presume she migrated from Endland... port unkown. All imigration records for the Maryland port of Baltimore (closest to Calvert County) where the land was patiented, were burned .....
!Brashear, Charles book "A Brashear Family History, Vol I, The First 200 years of Brashears in America"; page 46: "Maryland Calendar of Wills, II:238, where Henry's estate, "Rockhould" was divided among his sons, John, Henry Jr. and Richard. The records suggest that there was also a son named Absalom Kent."
