!Fayette Co, PA Will Book 1, p.159; Will of Basil Brown Sr, of Fayette Co, PA, 9 March 1805:
"Weak in body" sons: Basil; Wilkes; Thomas; daus: Eleoner Brashears; Sarah Brown; Elisabeth Brashears; Mary (deceased). Mentions granddaughter Mary Brashears (under age 18, d/o his deceased daughter, Mary). Bequests:
-> to son, Basil: a parcel of land bounded in part by the testator's son Thomas, the testator's brother Thomas Brown deceased, James Hannah (assignee of Hugh Laughlin), Jacob Segars, Thomas Gregg, Thomas Newport's old place, to a post lately set up by sons Basil and Wilks and Barock Brashears, through a field generally known as Steels field, to Hugh Laughlin's mill road.

-> to son, Basil: negro boy, named Andrew.
-> to son, Wilkes: a tract bounded by land of son Thomas, William Price, Hugh Laughlin, land formerly of Otho Brashears deceased, Jacob Bowman, Hugh Laughlin's mill tract, that perhaps of James Hannah, and land devised to son Basil, together with the distillery, 2 stills, and a boiler.
-> to daughter Eleoner: a long strip of land lying between land devised to son Basil and daughter Eleoner's husband Barock Brashears, being about 7 or 8 acres.

Will dated 9 March 1805; proved 13 Feb 1807 by Miller (affirmed in Old German) and Ford. Testator signed with his mark.
