Notes for Elizabeth Roberts
!"A Brashear(s) Family History, Vol 3" by Charles Brashear: Elizabeth sold her share of the Elias Roberts estate to her brother, Robert Samuel Roberts (Roane Deeds, Book K, p.313). Elizabeth and Walter first moved to Lawrence Co, TN, then c1824 to Perry Co, TN (area later Decatur Co), where Walter died about 1838 (case in Equity suit). Elizabeth figures in many land transactions in Decatur Co as a fairly well-to-do widow; she got two land grants there as a result of Walter's service in the War of 1812, and in 1855, she donated two acres for the establishment of Gray's Chapel (Methodist), near Bath Springs.
