!Notable Southern Families: Settled in Va. before 1623 on the East bank of the Elizabeth River near the present Parish of Norfolk. He had a large tract of land and several white servants. He received a grant of land in 1638. He removed from Virginia to Maryland in 1649. He and his family lived around Annapolis. 1652 to Mathewe Howard for killing one wolf: 100 lb. tobacco; and Cornelius Howard to collect taxes for the Western Branch in the Elizabeth River and to pay 100 lb. tobacco.
!Notable Southern Families: Matthew's first wife was Elizabeth and they had no children.
!From Maryland and Va. Colonials: Matthew returned to Va. to get the family and died before returning thus losing his Md. land.

Embarked for Virginia about 1630 with his wife and two white servants. In 1638, he was granted 150 acres of land by Charles, I as his rights for this emigration.

Seems to be okay at MATTHEW HOWARD b. abt 1609 married to Anne Hall. But seems riddled with errors.

Has both parents for Matthew Howard...John Howard/Elizabeth Lock and Thomas Arundel Howard/Ann Phillipson. Which path is chosen is the direction you use to get back ancestors.
