!US Census 1870 (29 June) Virginia, Culpeper Co., Salem Township, page 632, lines 21-23: R. H. Rixey (b. 1839 - 31 - in VA - Occ: Farmer - Property Value $401) married to Elizabeth (b. 1848 - 22 - in VA). ALSO LISTED is: Ann Triplett (b. 1800 - 70 - in VA)

Their home was near Rixeyville, Culpeper Co., Virginia on a farm adjoining that of his father.

He was called "Little Dick" to distinguish him from his father who was called "Big Dick"

Both he and his wife were buried in the Old John Rixey burying ground, as were three of three children. Later, they were all moved to the Hatcher lot in Fairview Cemetery, Culpeper, VA.
