Notes for John Cobreath
!"The Brashear(s) Family History,..." by Charles Brashear and Shirley Brasher McCoy:
No proof for this man as husband, but seems most likely. He was one of the executors of Benjamin Brasseur's estate in 1663. In "A History of Calvert County" by Charles Francis Stein on page 243, there is a reference to the marriage - "Captain John Cobreath of "Devon" and "Good Luck," Calvert Co., married a daughter of Robert Brasseur.
!Maryland Calendar of Wills, Vol. II, page 42: The will of John Cobreath "of the Clifts" of Calvert Co., dated October 27, 1687 and proved on March 6, 1689, names sons John and Aaron (split plantation equally) and daughter Jane but no mention of the wife. Executors were: Mark Clare, Wm. Meade, John Hunt and son John. John Hunt was Mark Clare's son-in-law.
