!Prince George's Co., Maryland Marriages and Deaths in Nineteenth Century Newspapers, V. 1: A-J, comp. Shirley V. Baltz and George E. Baltz, page 77: "Coroner's Jury in Upper Marlboro, enquiring into the death of Richard B. Brashears, do say: that they are fully satisfied from the appearance of the body and from evidence given before them, that his death was caused by the infliction of a wound in a mortal part, by an accidental discharge (by himself) of his own pistol, loaded with a blank cartridge," reported on 10 July 1825.
