Luther, the child of William Lingan Gaither and Laura Brashears Gaither was burned severely in Baltmore, MD and sent to the country (Laurel, Prince Georges Co., Maryland) to convalesce with the Brashear family and was eventually adopted by them and took their name. He had a child who died in 1988 - Dorothy Brashears Grau
