Notes for Jesse Hyatt
Jesse Hyatt, b. 12.14.1763, d. 1.12.1813; founder of Hyattstown, which was built on a portion of his home plantation in Montgomery Co., Maryland adjoining the Frederick Co., Maryland "Red House" farm of his brother Eli. He is named in his father's will of 1807. He married 1792, Ann Riggs, sister of Col. John Hammond Riggs, and daughter of Capt. Elisha Riggs and Caroline Welsh. They had 6 children: (1) Elisha Riggs... (2) Philip... (3) Sarah Riggs Hyatt, b. c1797, the "Aunt Sallie" of my boyhood days in Hyattstown, m. when old, Dr. N. J. Hatcher.
