Feb 1863 - 37 - in West Virginia) {Both parents born in West Virginia} married 16 years to Barbara Brashear (b. Jan 1867 - 33 - in Maryland) {Both parents born in Maryland} having 5 children with all 5 living. Children listed (all born in Kansas) are: Leona (b. July 1885 -14); Emma (b. Dec 1886 - 13); Samuel (b. Dec 1887 - 12); Vernon (b. Oct 1892 - 7); and William (b. Dec 1893 - 6). Also listed with them is Samuel E. Brashear (father-in-law b. Aug 1820 - 79 - in Maryland as were both his parents)
