!A Brashear(s) Family History, Vol 3, page 106 by Charles Brashear: notes wedding date for Delilah or Adelia MAY as 26 Dec 1863. Stipulates that in the Obit of 14 May 1909 from the Harriman Record says "Brashears, Samuel, of Harriman, RFD 3, Clax Gap. Several from our community attended the funeral of Uncle Samuel Brashears Tuesday near Kreis." I think incorrectly estimates the death day as being the Tuesday 11th May 1909...it was the funeral day (burial day) but probably not the day he died.

Samuel Brashears, b. c1837 (13 in 1850), bur. Riggs Cem. (no dates) "Co. G, 1st TN Inf." Samuel is listed in the 1890 census of surviving Veterans as a private, who enlisted 9 Aug 1861, discharged 17 Sep 1864, after 3 yrs, 1 mo, and 8 days of service. He is listed as a victim of Lung disease and varicose veins. Believed to be the "Tad" Brashear, age 13, (indexed in printed version as "Samuel") living with his grandmother, Polly Nelson, in 1850. Samuel Brashear m. 29 Dec 1863, Roane Co, TN, Delilah May. In 1880, Sam Brashears, 41 (ED229, p.17), with wife, Sarah_____ ("second wife?), and Mary Brashears, 8 "1/2 Cousin." all b TN.
