Notes for William Isacke

William, of Foston/Long Bennington, Lincolnshire, is son of Richard Ysac [sic] and wife Agnes. William is known from his mother's will of 1547 where he is called Sir William Isacke [sic]. "Lincolnshire Notes and Queries" (Vol. 5) shows him as the clerk at Westborough, Lincolnshire in 1556 and as clerk ("clergy" = pastor) at Fleet by "...a grant to him and others, for this turn, made by the lady Anne de Cleve, to the church of Fleet...." father, Richard, was living in 1531 when he signed a will as an executor, but dead in 1547 when Agnes writes her will as a widow.
