The Will of James Mackall, II; dated 26 December, 1716; probated April, 1717:
I, James Mackall of Calvert Co., Md. being of perfect memory and remembrance, praised to God, do make this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following, viz.
First: I bequeath my Soul to God who gave it to me, hoping that through the merits of Jesus Christ to receive a full pardon for my sins, and as for my body to be buried in Christian Burial at the discretion of my Executrix hereinafter named.
Item: I give and bequeath to my son James Mackall, III all the land where I now live that was his mothers and all that tract of land called "Derry's Neck" (probably Perry's Neck) to him and his heirs forever.
Item: I give to my son John Mackall, II all that Tract of Land called "Schoolhouse", which I lately bought of William Brabau, I give to him and his heirs forever.
Item: I give and bequeath to my son Benjamin Mackall, ll one hundred acres of Land called "Outlet", and Thirty acres adjoining it called "Nubert" (Veubert) to him and his heirs forever.
Item: I give unto my daughter Mary Mackall one young Negro Girl called Pegg to her and hers forever.
Item: I give unto my daughter Dorcas Mackall one Negro Boy called Ned to her and her heirs forever.
Item: I give to my youngest daughter (Dorothy Mackall) one Negro Boy called Harry to her and her heirs forever.
Item: All the rest of my Estate moveable and unmovable I give unto my loving wife Ann Mackall and her heirs forever, making her Sole Executrix of this my last Will and Testament and it is my will and pleasure that she do enjoy all my lands that I now possess as long as she continues unmarried, but should she marry after my decease that my sons do enjoy their lands at the age of one and Twenty and I likewise leave my Brother Benjamin Mackall, I and my trusty friend Mr Walter Smith to see that this my Will be correctly and Justly executed and performed.

In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and Seal this 26th day of December Anno Domini 1716.

Signed, sealed, and delivered in the presence of us:

April 1717, Then came B. Mackall, William Skinner, and Thomas Howe subscribing witnesses to the within Will and made Oath upon the Holy Evangelist of Almighty God that they saw the Testator Sign, Seal, and declare the within instrument of writing as his last Will and Testament and at the (time) of his doing thereof he was to the best of their apprehension of sound mind and memory.
