!A Brashear(s) Family History, Vol. 2 Robert C. Brashear of North Carolina and Some Descendants of Tn, Ky, Mo, Tx, etc.; Pg 44: Moses Land’s obituary appeared in the Belleville, Illinois, Advocate, December 9, 1847. (Ref: Danhauer-Land Genealogy, 1611-1981, by Minnie Land Larson, data forward to me by David Sailors ; data from Thora Thompson ; Janis Ragar, 2330 S. Marvin, Sedalia, MO 65301.) The DAR Patriot Index (p.399) shows Moses Land was married to Charity Beshears; that he was a private in the Continental Army and was from Virginia; that he was born in 1764 and died in 1848; and that a copy of his pension papers are on file in the National Archives. Pension file S36037 says he enlisted 30 Jun 1780, Orange Co, NC.
