!US Census 1860 (30 June) Georgia, Floyd Co., Dirt Town District, Dirt Town PO, Roll M653_121, Sheet 32, Page 160, House No. 218, Lines 20-22: Willis Selman (b. 1796 - 64 - in SC - Occ: Farmer - Property Value $7000 + $10,000) married to Francis (b. 1800 - 60 - in GA). Child listed is: James Bryant (son b. 1851 - 9 - in GA)

Willis Selman, one of the elder sons of James Selman, was born11 Aug 1796,probably in SC or GA. In APR 1822 he married Frances Landes (or Landers). Whether the marriage and/or child(ren)'s birth was before or after the below moving is unknown, but at sometime Willis, along with brother Wiley, moved to Upson Co, GA, then to Chamber Co, AL, and then to Floyd Co, GA where they settled. The only known child of this union is David B. Selman. Willis died 19 Mar 1866, believed in Floyd Co, GA, but burial info is not known.
