Brashear of North Carolina and Some Descendants in TN, KY, MO, TX, etc., by Charles Brashear; page 64-65: Absalom was on the 1813 tax list of Lee Co, VA, alongside Robert and Philip Brashears. From 1821 to c1824, Absalom lived in Tennessee, where some of his children were born. On 18 Jan 1825, Absalom received a 50 acre KY land grant on Wolf Creek in Wayne Co, KY, (Wayne Co, KY Deeds, Book U, p.307). On 1826-27 Tax Rolls of Russell Co, KY for property formerly in Wayne Co. When Absalom sold this patent to William Caughron for $120 on 9 Mar 1829, the land was described as "a certain tract or parcel of land situated, lying, and being in the County of Russell and State of Kentucky on the waters of Cumberland River on the ridge between Cumberland River and Wolf Creek, taken and patented to me, Absalom Brashers, containing fifty acres by survey..."

VA, in 1870 census, Franklin Co, IL, Mulkeytown P.O. (#112-112), with Martha Baldwin, 41, b. KY; Annie Baldwin, 17, b. IL (listed as male); and M.C. Besheers, (fem), 24, b. MA [sic], in his household. NOTE: Patsy Brashears, m. 1 Feb 1852, Franklin Co, IL (Bk B, p.43) Thomas Baldwin.
