Married twice...wife 1 - Susannah Vaughn was a half-blood Choctaw. Wife 2 - Rachel Durant was the ex-wife of his brother Samuel and the widow of David Walker.

page 85: The story is erroneous that Zadock got to Anne Arundel Co., Maryland, where in July 1776, he was enrolled in the Revolutionary Army as a private, by 2nd Lt. John Sprigg Belt. That Zadock was s/o John and Mary (Dowell) Brashear (Archives of Maryland, XVIII:40).
