!Obituary from Local Linn Co., Missouri Paper:
Mr. Oral A. Carter, 215 West Dake St., died at his home Friday afternoon. Services were held at the Hill Funeral Home at 2 p.m. Sunday, conducted by the Rev. Leo Spurling, Kirksville. Interment was in the Price Cemetery, Winigan. Oral Allen, son of Jess and Jessie (Parks) Carter, was born July 30, 1896 in Linn County. In 1918 he was united in marriage to Mina Cattey and they were parents of four children. Mrs. Carter and one son preceded him in death. On Nov. 22, 1947 he was united in marriage to Leona Asher. Mr. Carter is survived by his wife of the home; three daughters, Mrs. Jessie Sappington of Bucklin, Mrs. Frances Jacobs of New Boston and Mrs. Mildred Renoe of Tularosa, N. M.; one brother, Oliver Carter of Kansas City; one sister, Mrs. Ruth Welsh, of Springfield; 12 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and other relatives. Mr. Carter was a retired shoe worker, retiring in 1957. He was a member of the Christian Church of New Boston. He was a veteran of World War I.
