"Capt. William Brent of "Dumpfries" Prince William Co, Va and later of Fauquier Co, Va, served with distinction as Capt of Inf. in the Continental Army, Revolutionary War. He took a prominent and active part in affairs of both church and state; m. Hannah Neal, Dau. of Christopher Neal, and a Gr. Dau. of Daniel and Ursula Presley Neale, of Westmoreland Co, Va. The said Hannah was born in Maryland, now the District of Columbia and the White House is situated on her father's estate."
