She was the daughter of William and Ann Hall, of Princes George's, Co., Maryland and a direct descendant of the Rev. Henry Hall, one-time rector of St. James' Parish. Her father dying in 1791, bequeathed his daughter, Elizabeth Howard, five shillings.
