Catlett and Richard Buckner, Gent., of Augustine Smith, 'containing 4,000 acres in St. George Parish, Spotsylvania Co. Benjamin x Taylor, Charles x Morgan. July 6, 1731. Mary, wife of John Catlett, Gent., acknowledged her dower, etc. John Williams of the city of Bristol, Merchant, appts. Wm. Fauntleroy of Richmond Co., Va., hia attorney, etc., to convey several parts and shares of and in 'a certain Copper work intended to be carried on in the great fork of Rappahannock River in Spotsylvania Co., Va. ******by virtue of one Indenture of Lease granted by one John Findenson' etc., to Lyonel Lyde, John Taylor and Andrew Lewis, one-fifth each , and to John Lewis, Wm. Williams and Cornelius Lyde one-tenth each.
Witnesses: Wm. Stevens, Thos. Trenayler July 6, 1731"

Deed Book B 1729-1734 page 125: "John Catlett, Junr., of St Marie's Parish, Caroline Co., to Benjamin Taylor of St. Mark's Parish, Spotsylvania Co. 10 pounds Curr., 100 acres in St. Mark's Parish, Spotsylvania Co.---part of a tract granted Augustine Smith by patent and now in tenure and possession of said John Catlett, Jr., Jno Catlett, Senr. and Richard Buckner, etc., Jonathan Gibson, John Taliaferro, James Taylor. June 5, 1733. Alice, widow of John Catlett, Jr., acknowledged her dower."
