Notes for Ruth Crutchley

2 Oct 1725. From Alexander WARFIELD, Jr. of AA, planter, son of Richard WARFIELD of AA, Gent, to John MEDCALFE of AA, planter. Ruth WARFIELD, deced, wife of the said Richard WARFIELD, who was one of the daughters of Thos. CRUCHLEY deced, died seized of the moieties or half parts of 2 tracts of land in AA by Deep Cr, in the swamp, the one called BALDWINS Addition, containing, in the whole, 75 acres, and the other tract called DOROSES (DORSEY'S) Chance, containing, in the whole, 116 acres, said Ruth WARFIELD'S moieties of the 2 tracts contain, in the whole, 90.5 acres, and lie to the eastermost of each tract. Said Richard WARFIELD, having a right, by his marriage to sd Ruth, to sd Ruth's moieties during his life, and sd Richard WARFIELD, by his deed datd Sept. 23, 1725, granted to sd. Alex'r WARFIELD the afd moietites of the 2 tracts. Now this deed further grants to John MEDCALFE all his right to the afd moieties belonging to his mother Ruth WARFIELD. Signed: Alex'r WARFIELD Jr. Wit: Joh BEALE, Jno HAMMOND son of Charles, Nic HAMMOND, Dinah, the wife of the said Alexander WARFIELD, Jr. being privately examined, acknowledged that she gave up her right of dower to the within mentioned land.
