(³Some removals from other places of sepulture were made immediately afterward, but the first remains not previously interred were those of an esteemed citizen , Joseph C. Sistare, who was here laid to rest Nov. 23, 1851².)
Joseph Chew was the British Commissary during the war (of Independence), and his sons, William and John, had charge of the Indian Department.
