Frances Taylor (1700-1761) married Ambrose Madison (1700-1732). Their son, James Madison, Sr. (1723-1801) married Eleanor Rose Conway (1731-1829) and had issue ten children including James Madison, Jr. (1751-1836), fourth President of the United States.

He resided in Spotsylvania Co., and his will is recorded there. He patented with Thomas Chew 4675 acres, in 1722, in Spotsylvania county. He was the grandfather of James Madison, the illustrious President of the United States.
