!Annapolis Maryland Gazette Aug 30, 1764: On Monday the 20th of this Instant, Died, at his Seat in St. Mary's County, in the 68th year of his age, the Hon'ble Philip Key, Esq., one of the Council of this Province. He was truly a pious and devout Christian, an affectionate and tender husband, an indulgent and fond parent, a humane Master, a warm Friend, a friendly neighbor, and a most agreeable and cheerful companion. His Death is sincerely lamented by his family , and all his numerous Friends and Acquaintances.
