Children listed are: Alex, Jr. (son b. 1821 - 29 - in TN - Occ: Wagon Maker); Oliver (son b. 1826 - 24 - Occ: Wagon Maker - in AL); Benton (son b. 1828 - 22 - Occ: Farmer - in AL); Francis M. Children listed are: Alexander (b. 1821 - 39 - in TN - Occ: Wagon maker); Olliver P. (son b. 1827 - 33 - in AL - Occ: Wagon Maker); Malinda (dau b. 1841 - 19 - in AL); and Samuel (son b. 1837 - 23 - in AL - Occ: School Teacher). ALSO LISTED is: J. Walker (b. 1841 - 19 - in SC - Occ: Farm Laborer)

Note that Alexander was 21 years older than Nancy. He served in Capt. Allen Bacon's Company, Col. John Brown's Regt of TN Militia in the War of 1812. He was a Justice of the Peace of Roane county and performed many marriages, usually writing a poem on the back of the license. By 1830, the Nesmiths had moved to Lawrence Co, AL, where the name was prominent in legal circles; their descendants scattered into Arkansas and Texas.
