Notes for William Boon
Written August 30, 1794
In the name of God Amen, I William Boon of North Carolina in the County of Northampton being in a low state of health knowing it is appointed for man once to dye am willing to make my Will and dispose of my Estate in the following manner. Principally and first of all I bequeath my soul to Almighty God that gave it me, my body to be buried at the discretion of my Executors and my funeral expenses and just debts paid.
Item I leave my wife Anna Boon my manner plantation and the land belonging to it during her life (widowhood erased) and after her decease I give the said land to my son Lemuel Boon to him and his heirs forever. I also give to my wife Anna Boon one feather bed and furniture one bay horse and gray mare five head of cattle the first choice.
Item I give and bequeath to my son Lemuel Boon one negro boy named Sam to him and his heirs forever: I also lend to my wife Anna Boon one negro woman named Patience for the term of ten years: my desire is that at the expiration of fifteen years after my decease is that the aforesaid negro woman named patience and her increase may be equally divided amongst the whole of my daughters: I also give to my daughter Alice Boon one feather bed and furniture: my desire is that one hundred acres of my river land that I purchased of Lewis Summerset may be sold, beginning at the locus tree from thence down the river to the mouth of a gut then running out from the river a straight line to Fredrick Jones' corner and the value of the said land to be put to the use of paying my debts: I give and bequeath the remainder of my river land for my two eldest sons William Boon and John Boon them and their heirs forever: I likewise give to my son William Boon one feather bed and furniture: I leave my father Thomas Boon and James Winborne Sen. Executors of this my last will and Testament disallowing of all and every other will or wills made by me confirming this and no other to be my Last Will and Testament in witness of whereof I have here unto set my hand and seal this 30th day of August 1794.
