Notes for Henry Ware

!"Colonial Caroline, A History of Caroline Co., Virginia" by T. E. Campbell, The Dietz Press Incorporated, Richmond ,VA on page 411:
"Merchants and tobacco traders flocked to the Caroline warehouse and tavern (a place to lodge and dine). Men of all walks of life met at the tavern to discuss current issues, as well as business." Edward Ware (Henry's uncle) maintained a tavern from 1740- 1744 near Conway's warehouse. His brother-in-law Robert Garrett was licensed to maintain a stand near Conway's warehouse, and Henry and Nicholas operated a blacksmithing business in this same area.

Lived in Henrico and Caroline Co., Virginia; Edgefield Co., South Carolina, Wilkes Co. and Lincoln Co, Georgia. Served in Rev War from Ga ( Ga roster pp 189-394). Appointed Justice of the Peace in Wilkes Co., Georgia on 12 Jan 1782 by House of Assembly and again on 30 Apr 1782 and 4 Feb 1783. Attended Assembly in Savannah on 7 Jan 1783 as representative of Wilkes Co., Justice of Inferior Court, Lincoln Co., Georgia 24 Aug 1796 and Feb 1798. Delegate from Lincoln Co. to Convention in Louisville in 1798 when the Georgia state constitution was formed.

!Lincoln County Genealogy and History; Wills, Book A; Will dated 1 Nov 1801 & probated 12 Feb 1802: Estate admin. by executors 17 Feb 1802 Contents: to wife Martha - all estate during widowhood, grandson Thomas Ware: $100 at death of Martha, grandson Henry Ware (son of John; deceased) 100a of land adjoining Miner Winn's so as not to interfere with tract where I now live as that is all my son John's portion. Granddaughter Patsy Ware, daughter of Nicholas Ware, $100 at death of my wife, grandson Hudson Tate Ware $100 at death of my wife, balance of estate to be
equally divided between my children;
viz: Nicholas, Robert, James, Henry, Frances Waugh, Sarah McClendon & Patsy Lyon.
