He was a patriot in NC, Company of Capt. John Sallin, Rev War. His name appears on the muster roll of Granville Co. Militia, 1754. John Jr. and Bartholomew's names are listed in Capt. Daniel Harris' Co. in Militia 1754 and 1755. The names of John, Drury, William and Josiah are all listed in Col. Henerson's Regt.
