Katherine Tally was the daughter of Jacob and Mourning (Roberts) Tally of Jackson Co., Alabama.
Jacob Tally born in East Tennessee of Irish parents and Mary Mourning Roberts born in Virginia after the death of her father, which is the origin of the name Mourning. The Tally family came to Jackson Co., Alabama in 1819.
