!Volunteer Fairfax City Regional Library: Peter Gooding whose father was William Gooding and mother was Jane Davis. They purchased most of their land from the Fitzhugh's and owned the "Gooding Tavern" made famous during one of Mosby's raids during the Civil War. The Goodings and the Fitzhughs owned property along Little River Turnpike in Fairfax County, Virginia.
