Came to USA on the ship "Maiwife" in 1871 from Prussia, Germany. The ship embarked from Bremen and landed in NY. His name was listed as Augustus. He came to the USA with his father, Conrad Freudemann and mother Louise M. (b. 13 June 1849) from Wurtemberg, Germany. Conrad "Gus" Freudemann (b. 19 Nov. 1846) changed the spelling of his last name to Freideman (or maybe the customs people did). Gustave probably married Lena Ulrich about 1900 when they were living in Garfield, New Jersey.
