Moore. In this city on Saturday morning, June 11, Hamilton Woodbridge, son of Florence Greenhow and Treadwell S. Moore, U.S. Army, aged 3 years 3 months. The friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral tomorrow (Sunday) at 5 ½ p.m. from the residence of Mrs. Greenhow, No. 368 16th st.
!During 1862 Florence Greenhow and her husband Treadwell Moore (a West Pointer) moved from California to Utah. 1871, Florence & husband were in Newport, Rhode Island. Friends brought Little Rose from the Convent in England to Florence in Rhode Island. At that time Treadwell Moore was the Commandant at Newport, Rhode Island.
!Civil War Union Brevet Brigadier General. A 1847 graduate of the United States Military Academy and a Mexican War veteran, he was serving as a Captain in the Quartermaster Corps at the outbreak of the Civil War. He first joined the staff of Brigadier General James H. Carleton's staff as his Assistant Quartermaster, then served as the Chief Quartermaster of the Wheeling, West Virginia depot. He was brevetted Brigadier General, US Regular Army on March 13, 1865 for "faithful and meritorious services during the war". Remaining in the Regular Army, he attained the rank of Lieutenant Colonel, and died while on active duty in Fort Gibson, Oklahoma. He was the son-in-law of famed Confederate spy Rose O'Neal Greenhow.
