!"The Constitution", Atlanta, Georgia - Thursday, January 12, 1911: Major General Duvall Retires-Major General William Penn Duvall, who was Commander of the Department of the Gulf in this city, in 1906-07, and who is at present commanding the Philipine division, will retire for age next Friday - 13 January. General Duvall served with especial distinction in the Spanish-American war. He is very popular in Atlanta.
