Lafayette Boone graduated from the Louisville Law School and became a well known and respected lawyer. He also fought in the battle of Prairie Grove and held the rank of Major in Stirman's Regiment Sharpshooter's, CSA. He was seriously wounded in the battle and crippled for life. He was also elected as Treasurer of Washington County, serving multiple terms.
