Notes for Calvin Ball
!"JOHN BALL and WINIFRED WILLIAMS" by Claudette Maerz - Kentucky, Lawrence Co., Deedbook D, Page 130:
Know all men by these present that I Calvin Ball of Lawrence county and the state of Kentucky do give unto my father James Ball my daughter Nancy Jane and adopted her in the family . She was born on the 28th of December 1847 , and I James Ball do bind my self if the said child Nancy lives with me till she is married . I am to do as good a part by her as I have done by the rest of my girls .I Calvin Ball here give the child to my father and mother of my own free will and consent this 16th day of October 1849 "signed by Calvin and James Ball". Witnessed to the document were Nancy Ball and Milton Ball .
