!Asa and his wife were struck ill. After a long painful Illness they passed away with in 24 hours of each other. They were taken to to the cemetary in a wagon together where they were burried in the same grave.
Their young children were odopted by a family friend Issac and Henrietta (Albie) Ward. The Wards decided to allow the children to keep the Campbell name. Should they have changed their names, The Campbell Tree would have adjusted (legally) to Ward. Issac Ward taught Thomas the tools of his trade. Thomas was an ocomplished wagon and carraige maker he also was a blacksmith. Thomas fought for the South during the War between the States: Thomas P. Campbell - CO. B GA State Guards Confederate States Army.
