!Obituary - THE PROGRESS--ITEM, Ellisville, Mississippi newspaper, on May 28, 1964 - Funeral Rites for Robert Lee Ridgway:
Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at four o'clock from Soule's Chapel Methodist Church for Robert Lee Ridgway who passed away at his residence on Thursday morning, May 21. Reverend J. A. Bridwell of Hazelhurst, Reverend J. W. Courtney, pastor at Soule's Chapel and Reverend W. A. Fordham of Petal, officiated at the services. Interment followed in Crosby Cemetery.
Mr. Ridgway, member of one of the County's pioneer families, was eighty-four. He remained active despite his age and still kept some of his land under cultivation. He resided in the home place on Route 1, Moselle and was well known. He was a church worker, an ardent lover of the land and had formerly dealt in timberlands. He was a member of Soule's Chapel Methodist Church.
The deceased was a brother of the late and well loved Miss Bettie Ridgway, whose death on February 6 occasioned much mourning throughout this section.
Survivors include one son, Wallace Ridgway of Moselle; two daughters, Mrs. Gladys Walley of Moselle and Mrs. Fannie Culpepper of Petal; a sister, Mrs. S.C. Lowry of Rainey Community. Four grandchildren, two great grandchildren and one great, great grandchild also survive.
Arrangements were in charge of Jones Funeral Home of Ellisville.
