!NOTE: Thursday, January 25, 1923, the Boyden Reporter announced the death of Roelof LUBBERS:
Mrs. Mary Grooters, Mr. and Mrs. C. DeValois, Messrs. Charles and Benj. Heemstra attended the funeral of the late R. Lubbers, at Orange City, Iowa, on Tuesday January 16. Mr. Lubbers died on the 12th of January at the age of 80 years, and several months. On Jan. 17th, 1869, he was united in marriage to Jane Heemstra, and to this union six children were born. Interment was made in the cemetery at Orange City. A large number of relatives and friends attended the funeral, among them also being Mr. Lubbers of Sheldon, formerly a Boydenite.
