The name of God Amen I John Logan of Cromwell township in the county of Huntingdon being weak in body but of sound and perfect mine and memory and understanding, blessed by Almighty God for the same, being mindful of my mortality do make and publish this my last will and testament in manner and from the following, that is to say,
First and principally I recommend my immortal spirit to God who have it in hopes of a joyful resurrection and my body to the earth when it shall please God to separate my soul and body to be buried decently at this discretion of my executors according to the usage of the Catholic Church. And as to such worldly estate wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me I give and dispose thereof as follows.
First it is my will and I order and direct that my daughter Margaret receive from my executor out of my personal effect the sum of thirty-five dollars in money to make her equal in with my daughters Ann and Elizabeth in their outfit at their marriage. It is further my will and I do direct that my two daughters Susanna and Mary Jane shall have each of them a cow and other property of money equal to the property I give my daughter Ann and Elizabeth at the time of and after heir marriage before sale of my personal estate be made. It is my will and I do order and direct that all my personal estate shall immediately after my decease be sold by my executors and all my outstanding accounts be collected and from the proceeds thereof all my debts and funeral expenses paid. I do nominate and appoint my two sons John B. and Daniel J. to be my executors of this my last will and testament. It is furthers my will that the tract of land on which I now reside shall be equally divided between my three sons John B, Daniel J, and William to be divided by three honest freeholders citizens of Huntingdon county chosen by my three sons aforesaid each choosing one the land to divided so that the several parts shall be equal in value and my son John B. to have the first choice and my son Samuel (Daniel) J. to have the second choice and my son William the third choice.
It is further my will and I do order that the tract of land in Cromwell township aforesaid and joining the lands of John Rutter containing fifty five acres or thereabouts shall be sold by my executors as soon after my decease as it conveniently can be and the full amount of the price obtained for it shall be equally divided between my five daughters. It is further my will and desire that whatever remains of the proceeds of my estate real and personal held in right of my late dear and beloved wife, Mary, being in Cambria County and State of Pennsylvania shall be equally divided between all my herein before named sons and daughters share and share alike.
It is further my will and I do order that before the sale of my personal estate by my executors as above directed shall be made that my son Samuel (Daniel) shall have one horse and gears, one cow, four sheep and one bed and bedding all to equal in value with those I give my son John B at the time he left me. I publish and declare this and no other to be my last will and testament in witness whereof I have hereto set my hand and seal the twenty eighth day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty.

Before me the Register for the Probate of Wills and granting of letters of Administration in and for the said county personally appeared Michael Stair and Simon P. Meloy who being sworn according to law do declare and say they were personally present and did see and hear the within named John Logan sign, seal, execute, publish, pronounce and declare the within instrument of writing as and for his last will and testament and that they these deponents did sign their names thereto as witnesses in presence of each other and in presence of the said testator and that the said testator was at the time of sound and disposing mine memory and understanding to the best of their knowledge and belief. Sworn and subscribed the 11th day of August A. D. 1840 before John Reed, Register
Memorandum Letters testamentary were this day issued to John B. Logan and Daniel J. Logan executors of the last will and testament of John Logan late of Cromwell township deceased. Inventory to be exhibited with one month and a just and true account calculation and reckoning of their said administration within one year or where thereunto lawfully required. Given under seal of Office the 11th day of August A.D. 1840
