Notes for Thomas Johnson

The Johnson Family probably immigrated to Virginia, then into Fayette County, Pennsylvania. William Thomas Johnson, known as Thomas, and his family moved on into Salisbury, Rowan County, North Carolina, when he was a young boy. When it became too crowded, troubled by marauders, and land became too expensive they moved on to Tennessee. The Revolutionary War ended, and new land opened up. Because of the Indian astrocities, and never feeling that the place looked like their home in England, they traveled through the Cumberland Gap into Knox County, Kentucky, eventually ending up in the part of Floyd County which later became Pike County, Kentucky, where they settled. Thomas Johnson died there, but left a legend of family to follow him.
