Children listed (born in KY) are: Jeptha (son b. 1849 - 1); and Salome (dau b. Jan 1850 - 6/12). ALSO LISTED is: Lucy Johnson (mother b. 1785 - 65 - in NC)

!Information from web site as listed on Ancestry.com: William Payne Johnson Sr. was born in North Carolina in 1781. He traveled with his parents through Tennessee into Kentucky. While on this journey, he met and married Sarah Tackett. After Sarah's death, he met and married Lucy Ann Ayers. It has been reported that he and his family then moved to a place called Pawnee Gap (Letcher County, KY), which later was changed to Payne Gap in his honor.
