Laurel was born in Florida at Broward General Medical Center in Fort Lauderdale on 8 June 1973 at 3:50am. She was 8 lbs 2 ozs and 20.5 inches in length. She lived at 6901 NW 7th Street in Plantation, Florida. In Oct./Nov. 1973 she traveled across the USA from Florida to California. Notable stops at Carlsbad Cavern, New Mexico and at Aunt Mary Margaret Brown's in Phoenix, Arizona.
She lived in Cerritos, California at 17441 Lori Ann Lane and went to Whittman Elementary School. In 1981, she moved to 1705 Pacific Avenue in Manhattan Beach, California. She attended Pacific Avenue Elementary School, Center Middle School, Manhattan Beach Intermediate School and then to Mira Costa High School.
She is a very attractive young woman with a very nice figure (1990) and is 5' 8" tall and about 150 pounds. She has blue eyes and blonde hair. She is extremely intelligent, but didn't like school (Middle and High School). Her PSAT, SAT, and other special testing scores were EXCELLENT. She usually gets in the 99+ percentiles. She has a very nice personality and a relatively smooth disposition.
In 1991, she enrolled at UCLA. In 1992, she joined the Delta Gamma Sorority. She graduated in 3 years with a BA degree in Philosophy. She has the intention of getting an advanced degree in Law. She lived in Manhattan Beach, CA at 1705 Pacific Ave. She drove her Toyota Tercel to UCLA each day when she had class. She came home after school to take care of her dog (Athena). As of April 1994, Athena was about 9 years old. Athena is a bright dog who plays with her ball (she plays with herself to the exclusion of others) and will close the door (on command) when she comes into the house from the outside.
Upon graduation, Laurel and her friend, Tia Crabtree, went to Europe for a year (planned). They were going to work their way through Europe. They flew to England and then went to Ireland. They spent about 2-3 weeks in Ireland...Limerick. Then back to England and crossed to Europe. They spent a month or so in Prague, Czechoslovakia where they taught English at a summer camp for children (8-15 years). Then they went to Munich, Germany for a month of Octoberfest. They next went to Korfu, Greece where they enjoyed the activities of the island and the inexpensive life of the hotel. Next they traversed Italy and ended up in the French Alps. They got a job at a Chalet in Chamonix, France where they worked as cooks and cleaning people for the guests of the chalet. Laurel tore her Anterior Cruciate Ligament in March and ended up coming home a month or two earlier than she expected.
She lived with friends in Manhattan Beach and visited doctor in attempts to get her injury properly diagnosed. It was assessed to be a complete tear, but later determined to be only a partial tear. She has had a couple of MRI's and has a brace (to be used only if needed or if heavy exercise activity will be involved). She lived in the motor home for a while and then moved in with her friend, Joy Yocum. She is living in El Segundo.
She took a trip to Madrid, Spain in December 1995, with her brother Carl to go to the wedding of a classmate of Carl. She plans to return to the US at the end of January 1996.
